  • Location: Remote within India Employment: Full-time, permanent
  • Experience: Preferably 6 to 10 years in school Science teaching or academic content development Reporting to: The founder

About the role

Pragya is an AI-powered learning platform for school students. We are looking for a Science professional who enjoys explaining ideas clearly and using technology to improve learning.

You will work with the founder and product team to develop and review Science content across Classes 6 to 12, covering Physics, Chemistry and Biology in CBSE, ICSE/ISC and relevant Pre-University syllabi. The role requires breadth across all three sciences, from foundational concepts through higher-secondary study.

As our Science professional, you will take responsibility for accuracy, clear explanations and useful practice across all three sciences within your assigned grade range. You will help students connect scientific concepts to observations, experiments and everyday situations.

What you will do

  • Create and review lessons, worked examples, practice questions and answers.
  • Check scientific accuracy and alignment with the relevant board curricula and marking expectations.
  • Explain concepts in clear English and address common student misconceptions.
  • Check calculations, units, diagrams and virtual lab instructions for accuracy and safety.
  • Review interactive activities and AI-generated content, suggest improvements and verify corrections.
  • Improve examples, hints and feedback to help students work through misconceptions.
  • Develop questions at different difficulty levels and verify answers against appropriate references.
  • Record issues with precise locations and proposed corrections, prioritise significant errors and check the completed fixes.
  • Work with the founder and product team to address recurring content problems and incorporate feedback from teachers.

Qualifications and experience

  • A degree in Science or a related discipline; a relevant master's degree is preferred.
  • Preferably 6 to 10 years of relevant school teaching or academic content experience. Candidates with fewer years and strong evidence of subject breadth may also apply.
  • Experience teaching or developing school-level content across Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • A B.Ed. or other teaching qualification is an advantage.
  • Experience setting or marking school examination papers is helpful.

Skills and competencies

  • Strong conceptual understanding across Physics, Chemistry and Biology for Classes 6 to 12, with explanations suited to each grade.
  • Clear spoken and written English, with the ability to make difficult ideas understandable.
  • Confidence using digital learning platforms, spreadsheets and online tools.
  • Careful attention to detail and willingness to research unfamiliar material, verify your work and respond to feedback.
  • Familiarity with school and higher-secondary curricula and marking expectations.
  • Ability to verify AI-generated explanations and identify plausible errors.
  • Judgement to recognise uncertainty, consult reliable references and flag unresolved material for further review.

Your first two months

Learn Pragya and its review workflow, complete initial reviews in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and agree your chapter responsibilities with the founder. Progress towards independently reviewing an agreed set of chapters, delivering clear corrections and suggesting improvements to explanations, assessments and virtual labs. Workload will be agreed against the role's working hours.

Selection process

Shortlisted candidates will have an initial conversation, a practical content review and an interview. We will assess Physics, Chemistry and Biology separately, alongside teaching clarity, written English and confidence using the platform. The process includes a short explanation and discussion of your reasoning and…
