About the Role

Ortu Software is looking for a Content Writer who can turn research, client input, and technical information into clear, original copy. Youll write primarily for websites and eCommerce stores, working on blog posts, website and service pages, product and collection pages, and case studies.

Youll own each assignment from research and outlining through writing, editing, and final delivery. Youll work with our SEO, design, and project teams to create content that answers readers questions, supports business goals, and is structured for Google and AI-powered search.

Key Responsibilities

• Research topics using credible sources, competitor analysis, and input from clients or subject matter experts.
• Review search intent, identify gaps in existing content, and develop outlines that address what readers need to know.
• Write SEO blog posts, website and service pages, eCommerce product descriptions and collection pages, and case studies. Write email and social media copy as needed.
• Turn technical information into plain language and adapt the tone, structure, and calls to action to each brand, audience, and channel.
• Apply SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) principles to content for Google Search, AI Overviews, and tools such as ChatGPT and Perplexity. Answer readers' questions directly, use descriptive headings, support claims with credible sources, and add examples or comparisons where they help readers make a decision.
• Refresh existing content for accuracy, relevance, and readability.
• Fact-check, edit, and proofread your work. Manage multiple assignments, incorporate feedback, and meet agreed deadlines.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2-3 years of professional experience as a Content Writer, Web Content Writer, Copywriter, or in a similar role.
• Strong written English and the ability to write clear, concise copy for different audiences and brands.
• Hands-on experience writing SEO & AEO-optimized content, with an understanding of search intent, keyword research, content structure, and on-page SEO.
• Strong research, fact-checking, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Ability to work from an existing brief or independently develop an outline and draft from a topic or business objective.
• A portfolio of published writing samples.

Preferred Experience

• Experience writing for technology, web design and development, eCommerce, or digital marketing businesses is a plus. Experience writing for other industries is also welcome.
• Experience writing across formats such as blog posts, website and service pages, eCommerce copy, and case studies.
• Familiarity with a content management system such as WordPress or Shopify.
• Familiarity with Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and AI search trends, including how to structure content around reader questions and search intent.
